The American Film Fund is “Silent” no more as they take on Hope and Change.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE. West Palm Beach, FL November 30, 2009 – The American Film Fund (AFF) announced today its optioning of the original screenplay “The Silent Majority”.  The picture is slated to be produced by Prelude Pictures starting in the spring of 2010 and ready for a mid 2011 release ahead of the next presidential election.

The Silent Majority is a fictitious story, based on actual events.  The film follows the exploits of an ideological young reporter for the New York Times as he uncovers a conspiracy that will shake the very foundation of our great country.  What starts out as the assignment of a lifetime quickly turns into a nightmare when our hero uncovers the links between certain unions, billionaires, community groups and the Whitehouse.  The Silent Majority is a political thriller in the tradition of The Firm or Witness.

Prelude Pictures is being tapped to produce the film due to their big picture experience and the conservative viewpoint of their principals.  Prelude is best known for their blockbuster “Lost in Space” and the work they did for Mel Gibson on “The Passion of the Christ”.  Prelude’s last film “The Perfect Game” will be in theaters this summer.

Left leaning or liberal progressive films enjoy wide support among the major studios and film financing organizations.  Because The Silent Majority takes a no holds barred look into an administration that does not like scrutiny, this film has to be financed outside of the normal Hollywood studio system.  Through a group of conservative businessmen, foundations and the average citizen the production funds are being raised through the AFF.
